About Amanda Edwards

Amanda Edwards, CFRE, is the Executive Director of College Advancement at A-B Tech. Over the last 20 years, she served as Executive Director of the Asheville-Mountain Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Literacy Council of Buncombe County. She was recognized as the AFP-WNC Outstanding Fundraising Executive in 2017.
Amanda is also the vice-chair of Buncombe County Commission and represents District 2. She serves on the Affordable Housing Subcommittee, Department of Health and Human Services Board, Local Emergency Planning Committee, French Broad River Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Asheville-Buncombe Regional Sports Association Board. Amanda also helped revamp and increase transparency for the County’s non-profit funding process. Amanda holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Tennessee and a B.A. in Mass Communication from UNC-Asheville.
